What is a Baby Pencil Portrait?

A pencil portrait commission is a carefully and lovingly created record of your child at a wonderful stage of their life using ordinary photographic images that you provide. Your portrait is a timeless work of art that will not date and is not just something for you to enjoy and cherish, but also future generations to come.

All commissions are drawn using the highest quality pencils on the highest quality acid-free paper and protected with a special fixative spray to prevent smudging.

Finished artwork is placed in a mounted card sleeve, protective plastic wrapping and forwarded to you by registered post.

How long does it take?

Once I know your requirements and have received your photographic images, your portrait (depending on its complexity and my current work load) should take between 3 – 5 weeks.

Which Photograph do I choose?

Photographic images need to be large and clear. The more facial detail in the photograph the better. If the whole shape of the head and white of the eye is visible then it should be clear enough.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need advice choosing an image. Some examples of suitable images can be seen on this examples page. Remember, an ordinary photograph is all that you need.

How to order

Photos can be sent by email as attachments or if you prefer can be sent by post, my postal address is on the contacts page. Original photos will be returned to you with your finished art work but as anything can get lost in the post please ensure you don't send your only copy of a valuable photo. Prices and payment details are listed here.
